Pharmacist-reviewed patient education for kids and adults

Pharmacist-Reviewed Patient Education Videos

Qik Productions makes custom animated patient education videos for kids and adults, for hospitals, health systems, pharmacies and physician practices. Every video is reviewed by a specialized pharmacist in that topic, who checks the script and then the finished video before it reaches a patient.

What it means here

What "pharmacist-reviewed" means at Qik

Here is exactly who reviews every Qik video, and when.

A specialist in the topic, not a generalist

Each program is reviewed by a specialized pharmacist with at least five years of experience in that specific subject area. An oncology video goes to an oncology pharmacist. An infusion video goes to an infusion pharmacist.

Checked twice: the script and the finished video

The reviewer verifies the script before animation starts, then verifies the finished video before it is final. A correct sentence can still be drawn wrong, so the pictures and the voice-over get checked too.

Reviewers who are in practice

Our reviewing specialized pharmacists work with doctors, patients and nurses on a daily basis, so the video matches what a care team would actually say in the room.

Founded by a pharmacist

Qik Productions was founded in 2025 by Mina G. Yacoub, PharmD, BCPS, a board certified pharmacist who still practices. Meet the founder.

Why the review matters

What a pharmacist catches that a video studio does not

  • The dose that reads two ways

Five milliliters and one teaspoon are not the same instruction to a tired parent holding a syringe, and milligrams are not milliliters. Scripts get checked for the ambiguity before it is drawn.

  • The instruction that is true and useless

"Take with food" is accurate and answers nothing. What counts as food, how long to wait, and what to do if the dose comes back up are the questions people actually call about.

  • The difference between expected and call now

Every therapy has side effects that are normal and side effects that mean stop and phone someone. Patient education that blurs the two either scares people off treatment or keeps them home too long.

How it works

From topic to a video your patients can play at home

  1. You tell us the topic and who it is for

The medication, procedure or condition, whether your patients are kids or adults, and the questions your team keeps answering by phone.

  2. The script is reviewed by a specialist pharmacist

A specialized pharmacist who works in that area checks the script for accuracy and plain language before anything is animated.

  3. We animate it

2D animation and motion graphics, built for your brand and your protocol. Nothing is pulled from a stock library.

  4. The finished video is reviewed again

The same pharmacist verifies the finished video, visuals and voice-over included, before it is final.

  5. It reaches your patients, your way

Embed it on your own website, host it on the Qik platform, or take it fully white label and receive the video file itself.

A custom video typically takes 3 to 4 weeks, depending on how quickly your team returns feedback. Videos run about two to three minutes.

Common questions

Questions about pharmacist-reviewed videos

  • What is a pharmacist-reviewed patient education video?

A patient-facing video whose script and finished animation have been checked by a pharmacist for clinical accuracy before patients see it. At Qik, that reviewer is a specialized pharmacist in the video's topic.

  • Do you make videos for kids?

Yes. Videos can be made for kids themselves, in friendly animation, and for the parents caring for them, as well as for adult patients.

  • Who reviews Qik videos?

Each program is reviewed by a specialized pharmacist with at least five years of experience in that specific subject area. The reviewer checks the script before animation and the finished video before it is final.

  • How long does a custom video take?

Typically 3 to 4 weeks from start to finish. The timeline depends mostly on how quickly your team returns review feedback.

  • How long are the videos?

    About two to three minutes.

  • Do we need an annual contract?

No. You can order one video at a time, with no annual contract and no minimum spend. See what is included.

  • Can we own the video?

Yes. White label and work for hire are both supported, including full transfer of ownership of the finished video.

  • How do patients get the video?

Three ways. Embed it on your own website. Host it on the Qik platform and share it by QR code, text, email, direct link, branded landing page or waiting room screen. Or take it fully white label and receive the video file itself.

  • What languages do you produce in?

English is standard, and any language is available on request. Written transcripts are available.

  • Can we see how patients use the videos?

Videos hosted on the Qik platform come with campaign-level reporting, such as views and percent completion. No protected health information is collected and individual patients are not tracked.
